• GFLGLCC Honors Richard Gray with Inaugural Richard Gray Tourism Legacy Award

    Fort Lauderdale, FL (Friday, December 27, 2024) – The Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce (GFLGLCC) is proud to announce the creation of the Richard Gray Tourism Legacy Award, an annual honor established to celebrate visionary leadership in LGBT+ tourism.
     
    In a heartfelt ceremony, GFLGLCC President/CEO Keith Blackburn paid tribute to Richard Gray, a trailblazer who has devoted over 33 years to making Greater Fort Lauderdale a globally recognized LGBT+ destination.
     
    “Today is particularly special as we honor a true pioneer and visionary in our community,” said Blackburn. “Richard’s passion, commitment, and innovative spirit have transformed our tourism landscape, paving the way for countless visitors to feel welcome, celebrated, and safe in our vibrant destination.”
     
    To commemorate Richard’s unparalleled contributions, the GFLGLCC introduced the Richard Gray Tourism Legacy Award, which will be presented annually to individuals who exemplify exceptional vision, leadership, and dedication to advancing LGBT+ tourism and inclusivity.
     
    “Richard, your work has left an indelible mark on this community and countless lives around the globe,” Blackburn continued. “It is now my great honor to present the inaugural Richard Gray Tourism Legacy Award to its very first recipient: Richard Gray himself.”
     
    The award stands as a testament to Gray’s legacy, celebrating his remarkable achievements and inspiring future generations to continue building on the foundation he has laid.
